IN CONVERSATION WITH DAVID HEIDEN


 

David Heiden is a physician, humanitarian, author, and photographer. He is an ophthalmologist whose work centers on the prevention of blindness in people with AIDS.

Dr. Heiden founded the AIDS Eye Initiative part of the SEVA foundation's center for innovation in EyeCare, to train doctors in the diagnosis and treatment of the blinding CMV infection. In collaboration with Doctors without Borders, this project has also brought drugs and necessary medical equipment to treat AIDS patients throughout Africa and Asia.
